is one of three volunteer fire Departments serving Adair County Kentucky outside the City of Columbia. Established in 1998, and operating from one station, our 27 firefighters proudly protect 1,400+ residents in 64 square miles of southeast Adair County providing primary fire suppression, medical first response, vehicle accident extrication, hazardous materials initial response, and fire prevention education. We have a classification of ISO Class 9 within 5 road miles of our station.
We operate as a independent non-profit organization dedicated to serving and protecting our community. We are governed by a Board of Directors who oversee our finances and operations.
Our revenue comes primarily from voluntary annual dues, paid by our commnities residential and commercial property owners. These dues are collected from July - August of every year. These dues area $25.00 for the first deed, $15.00 for additional deeds. There is never a charge for any medical response, and residents who have paid dues for the current year are not charged a fee for fire responses.
Our firefighters and support personnel are 100% volunteer and receive no compensation for their service.
